Becky Stage Ladder Is OUT NOW!
We are more than happy to announce Becky Stage Ladder, our fourth album. The album displays our new direction, which emerged during the pandemic period. At that time bassist & vocalist Pieter started writing about topics that really mattered in his personal life such as loss, addiction, and inter-human difficulties. The lyrics switched from Dutch to English, the music became darker, more melodic, melancholic, but still contained its distinctive bass lines. We as a band started experimenting with Electro and instruments such as brass and mellotron, discarding the constraint that a band should comply to a certain genre.
“We are on a train, and Becky Stage Ladder is the “first stop” on our journey, and where the second station is, we don’t know”
Check it out on Spotify here!
Enjoy & Best Regards
Jim, Dirk & Pieter
Dada's Troost unveils emotionally charged electronic rock anthem "Clear Sky"
Thank you The Heavy Melody for this nice review:
Dada's Troost unveils their latest emotionally charged electronic rock anthem, "Clear Sky," as the final piece of their upcoming album "Becky Stage Ladder," set to release on May 17, 2024.
"Clear Sky" encapsulates the essence of hope amidst darkness, reflecting a turbulent period in the band's lives. Bassist Pieter van den Berkmortel shares, "During a dark time, we longed for clarity, for a clear sky to emerge."
With fierce vocals, a strong hook, and a surprising 90’s alternative bridge, "Clear Sky" offers a unique blend of electronic and rock elements that is both original and catchy. Dada's Troost's evolution from a bass-focused band to a mature blend of electronic and alternative rock is evident in this powerful track.
Don't miss the release of "Clear Sky" and the album "Becky Stage Ladder" on May 17, 2024, as Dada's Troost continues to push musical boundaries and inspire hope through their music.

We're happy to announce our new release, "Silence In My Head"
A note from us on the song:
Pieter on the lyrics: "The story behind the song is about meeting up with an old friend, who was still living the same turbulent life since I last met him, ages ago. I moved on, he didn't. But on the other hand, after spending the afternoon together, which got out of hand, we concluded that most of the people are in fact running a pointless rat race. And that it's not necessarily a bad thing to live slow; he might just better of than me, I thought"
The lyrics screamed for a 90s alternative sound. So the song starts off with a bass & vocal intro, where after the band kicks in with a pixies-like riff, followed by a Red Hot Chili Peppers-like pre-chorus. In contrast with the music, the lead vocals are dark and gloomy, which makes the song very melancholic. The song is recorded and produced by Dada's Troost and Guido Aalbers. Video by Rob Deelen. But again, all DIY :).
This song, finalizes a sequence of three. These three singles have more or less the same theme, and are not picked or ordered randomly: "Visit From A Friend" was pure electro, "Times Of Need" was a tiny bit more rock, but still didn't contain a single guitar riff. This release shows us as a band again. Now we want to concentrate on getting the album out, end-2023
